For this project I choose to make a weight that is usually known for working out the arms. If I would have bough these weights instead of making them like did I would have wasted maybe more than two thousand for everything including the weights and the bar. Of course you wont get the same result since the real once are professional and are actually for working out but the ones that I made by myself are cheaper and in a way you can still use them as if they were the real thing. I tried using things I already had since the real thing is much more expensive but you can always make them better with concrete and a medal tube from home depot to be more professional. I made mine changing a few things to make it easier for someone my age to have access to them.
I choose to make this weight because I can work out my arms, legs and gluteus. What I did to make my way west to fill up 2 gallons up with water. I did this so that the gallons would weight something and chose water because I heard that it’s harder to keep it balanced making the work out better for you. Then using a rope I tidied up both gallons up by their handles and I figured it would be better for me to duck tape the middle so that the grip would be better. The way I intended to use this weight was to do squats while you squat you grab the middle of the weight and balance them holding them up and putting them back down once you’re done. It makes the work out the double since you not only have to work in squatting correctly but also holding weights and trying to balance them.
Making this weight was a new experience. I honestly didn’t feel that special making weights but in a way it’s good to know that you don’t need to go out to buy weights but grab things are at home put them together and make a weight. I think it’s important to know that you don’t have to go out and buy an expensive weight to exercise so you can feel more motivated to. With this weight I can exercise the way I would with a regular weight the only difference is that it has some different things that are not in common. Instead of a bar I have a rope but you can always replace that with a metal tube and the water gallons you can replace with concrete bottles to make it more professional and heavier.
Overall I think it was good to know that you don’t need an expensive weight to feel motivated to exercise. With some things you find at home and put them together is more than enough. This weight taught me to be creative with how I see things and ways to save my money in a way that I don’t need to go buy everything I need.
